The Queen approves the appointment of four new Lord Justices of Appeal

The Queen has been pleased to approve the appointment of The Honourable Mr Justice Lloyd Jones as a Lord Justice of Appeal. This appointment follows the announcement of his appointment as Chairman of the Law Commission, which takes effect on 1 August 2012.

The Queen has also been pleased to approve the appointment of The Honourable Mr Justice McCombe, The Honourable Mr Justice Treacy and The Honourable Mr Justice Beatson as Lord Justices of Appeal to fill forthcoming vacancies in the Court of Appeal.

The Honourable Mr Justice Lloyd Jones

Mr Justice Lloyd Jones was called to the Bar (Middle Temple) in 1975. He was Junior Crown Counsel (Common Law) from 1997-99. He was appointed a Recorder in 1994 and a QC in 1999. In 2005 he was appointed a High Court Judge in the Queen's Bench Division. Mr Justice Lloyd Jones is currently Deputy Chair of the Boundary Commission for Wales. He will take up post as Chairman of the Law Commission on the 1 August 2012.
