In accordance with the terms of the Standard Crime Contract July 2017 Specification, para 6.63 all staff undertaking police station duty solicitor work must carry an identification card as specified by the Legal Aid Agency. Cards issued by the LCCSA have the holder’s photograph digitally imprinted and are renewed annually for added security - an annual fee of £36 is charged.
While an ID card is not required for other types of work, police forces will often require evidence of both identity and qualification upon arrival at custody suites and our ID cards enable professionals to demonstrate both.
Please note we only issue cards to fully accredited representatives and not Probationary Representatives. Please do not apply until you have qualified, we regret we cannot refund an administrative charge if our checks reveal you are not eligible for the card.
