In 1925, Jack Leslie, a Black footballer, was selected for England but cruelly denied his chance to play for the national team due to the colour of his skin. Kingsley Napley is proud and excited to continue its support for the Jack Leslie Campaign by hosting the London launch of a new biography of Jack, The Lion Who Never Roared:The Star Robbed of England Glory.

You are invited to join Matt Tiller, the book’s author, and Greg Foxsmith, one of our in-house advocates (who together co-founded the campaign) to learn about Jack’s remarkable story with the help of film, photographs and music! There will also be an opportunity to purchase signed copies of the book, as well of course to connect with friends and peers over some refreshments.

It does not escape us that Black History Month will be over by the time of this event. Kingsley Napley and the Jack Leslie Campaign believe that Black history should be shared and celebrated all year round, we are sure you agree and hope you will be able to make it!
