[2007] EWCA Crim 3175
An argument that a verdict was not open to a jury on the basis of the case advanced by the prosecution had to be raised before the jury directions were given, or if directions were given in standard terms, the judge had to be asked to correct them; it was not permissible to challenge a verdict which had been open to the jury on the evidence and had been reached in accordance with jury directions which were not challenged at the time.
