The third category of circumstances set out in Attorney General's Reference (No.2 of 2002), Re [2002] EWCA Crim 2373, [2003] 1 Cr. App. R. 21, whereby identification evidence was admissible at trial where the witness had acquired special knowledge through spending substantial time viewing and analysing images from the crime scene, could properly be extended to apply to identification of a defendant from closed-circuit television footage based not only upon facial features but on a combination of factors, including build and gait.
