[2002] EWCA Crim 1580

The fact that a man aged over 23 had no defence under s.6(3) Sexual Offences Act 1956 (the young man's defence) for an offence of unlawful intercourse with a girl under 16 contrary to s.6(1) of the Act, did not make the defence discriminatory, disproportionate or incompatible with Arts.6 or 14 European Convention on Human Rights. This case is reported at Times, June 26, 2002 and (2002) Crim LR 756.
