In the absence of any prejudice to the defendants or other consequential injustice, criminal proceedings were not rendered invalid because the indictment had not been signed. Further, an indictment amended in the course of the trial by leave of the trial judge and signed by an officer of the court, was, in the absence of such prejudice or injustice, validated thereby.
