The serious crime act 2015 received royal assent on 3^rd March. It gives effect to a number of legislative proposals set out in the Serious and Organised crime strategy published in October 2013. This gives the NCA and other law enforcement agencies further powers to investigate and is designed to assist in bringing to justice those engaged in organised crime.
Part 1 of the serious crime act 2015 makes an amendment to the proceeds of Crime Act 2002. The presentation will cover the main changes which came in on the 1 June 2015, together with the further amendment to POCA made by the Policing and Crime Act 2009 and the Crime and courts Act 2013 which will affect practitioners in this area.
