When making an arrest for an offence of violent disorder under the Public Order Act 1986 s.2, it would often be impractical for the police to give each arrested person detailed particulars of the case against them. It would therefore ordinarily be sufficient for the purposes of the Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984 s.28(3) to tell the person concerned that he was being arrested on suspicion of violent disorder and to give details of the relevant time and place.
