[2010] EWCA Crim 211
Respective minimum terms of 30 and 28 years for sentences of life imprisonment imposed on offenders for murder, where they had beaten and tortured a vulnerable elderly man to death for financial gain in the course of a burglary, were manifestly excessive and the minimum terms were reduced to 27 and 24 years respectively due to the age of the offenders and their personal mitigation.
