[2011] EWCA Crim 1300

The court was not obliged to make a disqualification order under the Criminal Justice and Court Services Act 2000 s.28 in respect of an offender who had committed a relevant sexual offence after October 12, 2009, that being the relevant commencement date for the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act 2006. Instead, the court was simply to tell the offender that he would be placed on the "barred list" by the Independent Safeguarding Authority.
