[2009] EWCA Crim 1299

A sentence of 10 years' imprisonment for conspiracy to rob was quashed and replaced with eight years for a robbery involving forced entry into a house where a high level of violence had been used, resulting in the death of an occupant. Although the offender had instigated the crime and was aware that his co-defendants were armed, he had remained as a lookout, pleaded guilty to the robbery and had not foreseen the extent of the violence that was used.
