[2001] EWCA Crim 2280

An unsuccessful appeal against conviction for arson and attempting to obtain property by deception where the circumstantial evidence relied on by the prosecution had not required a special direction from the judge. A total sentence of eight years' imprisonment was not manifestly excessive.
