[2013] EWCA Crim 1382
A sentence of two-and-a-half years' imprisonment was appropriate in the case of an offender who had pleaded guilty to stealing telephone cabling worth £7,500 from beneath a street. The theft deprived local householders of their telephone connections for a number of days, but it was not characterised by any element of danger to the public.
