[2008] EWCA Crim 471

Concurrent sentences of seven-and-a-half years' detention following a guilty plea to two offences of damaging property being reckless as to whether life would be endangered contrary to the Criminal Damage Act 1971 s.1(2) were manifestly excessive where the 17-year-old defendant had dropped a heavy object on a train causing serious injury to the driver. The period of detention was reduced to one of six years.
