[2009] EWCA Crim 1122

A sentence of five years' detention for three offences of burglary and two of theft committed as part of a systematic campaign of dishonesty, with a number of similar offences taken into consideration, was manifestly excessive for a young offender who had demonstrated genuine remorse and a significant change in his attitude to offending. A sentence of four years' detention was substituted for the original term.
