[2002] EWCA Crim 2913

An order of indefinite disqualification from working with children imposed under s.28 Criminal Justice and Courts Services Act 2000 was not a penalty within the meaning of Art.7 and could therefore be imposed in cases where the offences had been convicted prior to 2000 Act coming into force. There was no limitation in the 2000 Act preventing its imposition in those circumstances.
