In the first prosecution under the Criminal Justice and Immigration Act 2008, three defendants convicted after a trial were sentenced to custodial sentences of between 15 months' and two years' imprisonment for creating and distributing a leaflet suggesting that homosexuality should be punished by the death sentence.
