[2009] EWHC 2928 (Admin)

A drug search conducted by a police officer was unlawful because the searching officer had failed to comply with the requirement in the Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984 s.2 to state his name and the police station to which he was attached before commencing the search, even though the officer and suspect were well known to each other.
