[2009] EWHC 3666 (QB)
An individual who had been unlawfully imprisoned for 10 days beyond the date on which his sentence had expired was entitled to a basic compensatory award of damages in the sum of £7,500. He was not entitled to aggravated damages, as the prison authorities had acted in good faith.
