The extradition of a Portuguese national was not unjust or oppressive as, although he had been living in England for some years following his release on licence from custody in Portugal, he had subsequently been further sentenced in Portugal to a very heavy sentence for grave offences and the decision as to whether he met the conditions of the Portuguese Criminal Code for further parole was a matter for the Portuguese courts.
