What I remember about that terrible February night is that Kris came home from work in such a happy mood. He’d just bought a new bike frame to add to his collection – he had six already – and was about to set off on the usual weekly bike ride with his friend John Morland, who was also a colleague at Reading Borough Council. Kris loved bikes and motors – they were his passion.
