[2012] EWCA Crim 1292

A sentence of 11 years' detention was not manifestly excessive for a young offender who had stabbed a man under his eye, intending to stab him in the eye. The judge was entitled to determine a starting point of 10 years, which was outside the definitive guidelines on assault category two, which specified a starting point of six years.
