[2004] EWCA Crim 625

In all the circumstances a sentence of seven years for indecent assault was manifestly excessive given the limited level of sexual activity. Whilst the judge was entitled to pass a longer than commensurate sentence, an extended sentence was more suitable as the defendant would receive assistance when released on licence and the public would be better protected.
