[2007] EWCA Crim 3297
A compensation order representing tax liabilities to the Revenue following a guilty plea to an offence of cheating the Revenue was quashed. It was not appropriate for the Crown Court to impose such an order where there were complex issues to be decided, and as the Revenue had not been a party to the proceedings, it was not permitted to make representations about the appropriate level of any order.
