Once a juvenile had been validly committed to the Crown Court for trial with an adult, he had to be tried in the Crown Court, even if the adult pleaded guilty. There was no basis for reading into the Magistrates' Courts Act 1980 s.29(2) provision for the Crown Court to remit such a matter to the youth court; however, the Divisonal Court considered that the matter required Parliamentary attention.
