A decision not to prosecute a police officer for perverting the course of justice, perjury and misconduct in public office, in relation to the alleged fabrication of evidence during a murder investigation, on the basis that the expert linguistic evidence did not support fabrication and there was therefore no realistic prospect of a conviction, was reasonable.
