The Law Society has announced that it has set up two new sections with membership open to non-solicitors.

The Equality and Diversity (E&D) Section and the Family Section will both launch on 25 June.

The E&D Section is open to solicitors practicing in diversity law, human resources practitioners and procurement professionals. It will provide support and training to improve business performance on diversity, increase accessibility and reduce risk.

The Family Section is targeted at family and children law practitioners. Membership is open to legal aid solicitors working on public care cases, to mediation specialists, divorce lawyers, Chartered Institute of Legal Executive professionals and family court advocates.

It will provide support in three key areas. Practice updates will provide news and information, including updates from related sectors such as mental health, criminal law and immigration. There will be networking opportunities and career development training, including webinars, training courses and an annual conference.
