Searching of a group of protestors travelling to an anti-oil industry demonstration had been justified by intelligence that the protestors were carrying molasses and chalk, items which had been used to cause criminal damage at previous demonstrations. There was no breach of the applicant protestor's human rights, as the officer that searched him had reasonable grounds to suspect that items designed to cause criminal damage would be found on one or more of the protestors.
