In the circumstances, the English courts had jurisdiction to hear a claim even though the claim form had been served outside of the jurisdiction of the English courts as the English courts were clearly the appropriate forum and the essence of the dispute between the parties came down to the interpretation of several provisions of contracts governed by English law.
