[2013] EWHC 1459 (Admin)

A decision of a Youth Court to commit a 13-year old to the Crown Court for trial for alleged robbery was quashed as trial in the Crown Court was reserved for the most serious and exceptional cases, which merited the description of grave crimes. As serious as the alleged offence was, it could not be said that it necessitated the exceptional course of the Youth Court to decline jurisdiction.
