High-tech computer software that helps police identify substances in seconds is being used to track down drugs.

The new software can quickly establish if a tablet or capsule is a controlled drug, a prescription medicine or an innocent vitamin or herbal tablet.
The system, called TICTAC, is available to every police employee through the force's own computer network.
