[2012] EWCA Crim 1119
The Court of Appeal gave guidance on the relevant considerations for a judge when sentencing for offences of rape of a child under 13 contrary to the Sexual Offences Act 2003 s.5. Sentences of 40 months' imprisonment imposed on two young offenders for such offences were unduly lenient and replaced with sentences of 7 years' detention in a young offender institution.
