There was a prima facie case for consideration by a jury where a conveyancing solicitor indicted for mortgage fraud had acted for both purchasers and lenders and had applied for remortgages without telling lenders that the original purchases had taken place on the same day, for amounts significantly lower than the asserted market values of the properties.
