The right to free legal advice under Code C 3.15 Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984 did not apply to interviews conducted by investigators at the Benefits Agency. Where the defendant had been properly cautioned, informed of her rights and questioned appropriately, her right to silence had not been infringed.
