The guidance given in R. v Kolawole (David Oladotun) [2004] EWCA Crim 3047, [2005] 2 Cr. App. R. (S.) 14, which was concerned with the offence of using a false passport contrary to the Forgery and Counterfeiting Act 1981 s.3, or holding a passport with that intention contrary to s.5 of the Act, applied to the offence of possessing a false identity document with intent under the Identity Cards Act 2006 s.25(1).
