A sentence of 18 months' imprisonment was appropriate in the case of a conviction for dangerous driving where the driver, closely followed by another car, had weaved in and out of traffic in a built-up area at speeds grossly in excess of the speed limit, had overtaken when it was unsafe to do so, and had caused a significant collision, with consequential damage and injury.
