A sentence of ten years' imprisonment was regarded as manifestly excessive for offences of robbery due to the fact that not only did the appellant plead guilty to the offences, but he was also the only offender not to physically harm any of the victims of the robberies. Accordingly, the sentence was reduced to a term of eight years' imprisonment.
