[2012] EWCA Crim 1612

A judge had been justified in sentencing two offences of "transaction reversal" cash machine fraud within a higher category of the banking fraud sentencing guidelines than the amount stolen would indicate. It was of great importance that both the public and banks should have confidence in the reliability of cash machines. The judge had also been correct to impose a consecutive custodial sentence for possession of an MP3 player, which had been partly adapted to record PIN numbers.
