The power of a magistrates' court, under the Magistrates' Courts Act 1980 s.83, to issue an arrest warrant to secure the attendance of an individual before the court for an inquiry was limited to inquiries under s.82 of the Act and could not be exercised where an individual had already served a term of imprisonment for failing to comply with a confiscation order.
