My time in Brixton prison: why Vicky Pryce is wrong about female convicts

Last week I spent a day in Brixton prison shadowing the chaplain. The plan was to wander around chatting to the guys during their 'free flow' time and observe a few one-to-one meetings. I didn't expect any of them to open up in my presence - they didn't know me from Adam, and I reckon they would've preferred Adam to a 30-year-old pregnant woman.
