More 'lenient' sentences reviewed
PUBLISHED October 1, 2004The number of people challenging sentences handed down by judges is increasing rapidly according to new figures.
According to latest figures, 316 sentences in England and Wales were challenged last year by victims, families or support groups.
The total has soared by more than 70% since 2000 when 178 cases came under scutiny.
