Next week, the Global Law Summit takes place in London. The three days of lectures and discussions celebrating the 800th anniversary of the sealing of Magna Carta in 1215 are a welcome recognition of the continuing importance of the rule of law, even if the corporate and networking nature of the proceedings is more of a legal Davos than a meeting of the Administrative Law Bar Association. But it is also an opportunity for asking some hard questions about whether our politicians understand the value of the legal principles that they are applauding.
