Jail term cut for madame Cynthia Payne: from the archive, 16 May 1980
PUBLISHED May 16, 2013A 48 year-old "madame" whose brothel was said to be used by a peer of the realm, a member of the Irish Parliament, several vicars, barristers and solicitors, yesterday lost her appeal against a gaol sentence but succeeded in winning a reduction from 18 to 6 months.
