There was nothing in the Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984 which required the court issuing a search warrant to give reasons why it was satisfied that there were reasonable grounds for believing the matters set out in s.8(1)(a)-(e) of the Act and in some cases it might be unnecessary to do so, such as where the written information was compelling as to the grounds for such a belief and clearly addressed the specific matters in s.8(1)(a)-(d).
