The Law Society have kindly offered us a venue to discuss our response to the latest MOJ proposals , and how we can oppose the cuts which are universally acknowledged amongst solicitors as not necessary .  We hope that there will be similar meetings elsewhere across the country .
Two consultations that may shape the future of many firms have deadlines within the next few weeks.
We had hoped to hold a meeting to discuss the impact of, and encourage responses to the AGFS consultation which ends on 2nd March .
Events have accelerated as the LGFS consultation was launched last Friday , only 7 weeks before the new contract commences on 1st April . This consultation is asking responders to effectively choose between two cuts

  1. LimitPPE to 6000 pages and reduce s38 certificates to legal aid rates or
  2. Accept a cut of 8.75 % across the board.
