A magistrates' court had been entitled to find that vehicles lent to a farmer under an advertising scheme that relied upon advertisements displayed upon the sides of the vehicles being visible to traffic on an adjacent motorway were not "used principally for the display of advertisements" and therefore fell within the exception from the requirement to obtain planning permission contained in Class B of the Town and Country Planning (Control of Advertisements) (England) Regulations 2007 Sch.1.
