[2008] EWCA Crim 1530

Concurrent sentences of five years' imprisonment imposed on a man of good character for guilty pleas to offences of possession of a prohibited weapon and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life were not unduly lenient where the offender had fired a single shot at a policeman on the spur of the moment with the intention of frightening him rather than injuring him. The sentence was lenient, but not unduly so, as the sentence might justifiably have been six years imprisonment after reductions from a 10-year starting point.
