[2012] EWCA Crim 1463

A judge had been entitled to impose a sentence of imprisonment for public protection with a minimum term of four years upon an offender who pleaded guilty to robbery. The offender had numerous previous convictions and had forced his way into the home of an elderly woman by claiming to be a police officer, stolen money from her, restrained her when she shouted for help, and assaulted a police officer in an attempt to evade arrest.
