Log on at court to make sure your attendances are updated on the Xhibit system

Advocates should log on to Xhibit to ensure they are paid for attending at court.

Records of attendance are only updated when advocates log into the Xhibit system at the court.

Why we know this is an issue

Our caseworkers use the Xhibit portal to validate claims.

Unfortunately, we are seeing a large number of redetermination requests on Advocate Graduated Fee Scheme (AGFS) cases for court attendances that have not been recorded on Xhibit.

What this means for you

Failing to log in to Xhibit, for whatever reason, can mean that an advocate will not be paid for attending at court.

There is no obligation on HM Courts and Tribunals Service (HMCTS) to record an advocate's attendance on the court record.

Log on any time in the court day

If an advocate forgets to log in at the beginning of the day, they can log in to Xhibit at any point and at any terminal during the court day.

What if I can't log on?

In exceptional circumstances only, if technical issues prevent an advocate from logging in to Xhibit, HMCTS advises advocates to ask the court clerk to register their attendance.
